At 15:30 p.m. on July 1, Aulin College held a forum on the common teachers of foreign teaching in the autumn semester of 2020-2021 in conference room 609. The meeting was presided over by Zhao Lihua, Vice Dean of teaching of Aulin College. The participants were teachers who will undertake the task of sharing courses in the next semester of Northeast Forestry University. They will complete the teaching task of all English professional courses together with foreign teachers from The University of Auckland and Aston University.
At the meeting, Li Na, director of the international program center of Aulin College, took the ongoing foreign course discrete mathematics as an example to explain in detail the general mode of foreign teachers' teaching, and how to establish contact with foreign teachers to determine the teaching content, assessment method, and score composition. It also explains the key points and difficulties of the common course teachers before the course starts, during the course, and after the foreign teachers' teaching.
Then, Yan Lin, the teaching secretary of the Teaching Management Office of Aulin College, made a brief introduction to the teaching tasks of Aulin College in the next semester. In view of the fact that foreign teachers could not come to China to teach in person during the epidemic period, they could only adopt the method of recording and broadcasting combined with live teaching, and discussed with the co teachers the specific curriculum schedule and examination and other details.
Finally, Mr. Zhou Xiaodong, who has undertaken the task of sharing lessons twice, summarizes and shares his experience accumulated in the process of sharing lessons. Zhou Xiaodong stressed that: teachers should learn the teaching content of foreign teachers in advance, at least five times, in order to deeply understand the essence of the content of foreign teachers; the content of the first few chapters of the course should be slower, giving students enough time to adapt to the foreign teachers' phonetic speed, be familiar with professional vocabulary and teaching methods of foreign teachers; the focus is to cultivate students' interest in learning the major Enthusiasm should focus on the process assessment of the course learning, rather than simply defining the students' learning situation by the final written examination results. In addition, Mr. Zhou Xiaodong also shared many stories about communication with foreign teachers, and provided many practical suggestions for other teachers.
After the meeting, the teachers all said that the forum benefited a lot, they had a deeper understanding of the task of sharing lessons in the autumn semester of 2020-2021 academic year, and were confident to cooperate with foreign teachers to successfully complete the teaching arrangement.
